Disneyland

Emmett and I went on trip to Disneyland and SeaWorld with the Ericksons, Hunsakers, and Jude. Shayne, Emily, and Jude flew with Halle, Max, and Emmett and the Ericksons and I drove together. That way the little babies didn't have to sit in car for 10 hours. Bret had work and school so he couldn't come. The weather was just awesome and I wished I had some maternity shorts :) Emmett loved the Jungle Cruise the most. We rode that one twice and he got to see the elephants, hippos, etc... He keeps saying, "I see hippos." "I ride a boat" He also liked Pirates of the Carribean and Dumbo. And the bus ride from the parking lot to the park. He also says," I ride a bus" "I ride a dinosaur" and "I ride a pig" The dinosaur and pig were just pictures on the bus but he thinks he rode them.

Emmett really loved SeaWorld which didn't surpise me. He sat completely still through the shows and loved the animals. We were watching the dolphin show and the trainers were swimming and diving with the dolphins, I told Jill she's never be able to swim that well, and Cody said with a serious and sincere face, " my dad can" The night before Bret swan with Cody at our hotel's pool and it made Cody's trip. He was so happy! Cody thinks the world of his dad. It must make you feel good that your kid thinks you can do anything!

Emmett's 2nd Birthday

Emmett turned 2 on Feb 11th. We celebrated his birthday the Monday before since Bret had the night off , and we would be in Disneyland on his actual birthday. We had a family party and a lot of his cousins came. Our guest list included: Maughans, Ericksons, Hunsakers, Heltons, Jude, and Nana. He was spoiled as usual and loved the attention and gifts.

Presents: ELEPHANTS, trains, movies, bubbles, potty, clothes, etc...

Bret and I decorated his cake together. We've both become pros at drawing elephants. Emmett likes us to draw "big daddy elephants".

Cousins 2011

I love group pictures of all the cousins or friends. It'll be so fun to look back on in 20 years. I have a few from when I was a kid and its fun to guess who is who.
Emmett went to his 2 year check up and he's 25 lbs (19%) and 36.5 inches tall (96%). Tall and skinny. He loves elephants, rhinos, hippos (not just big gray animals), he also likes giraffes, zebras, horses, and cows. He loves the trains my mom and Nana gave him, and we gave him the train track. He sometimes get frustrated if his toys don't work right and throws them or/and himself on the ground. I've been trying to take the time to keep him calm and remind him to try again. Apprently, Bret was the same way as a kid and his mom helped him for a long time!!! He talks really well and we even have some conversations now. It's really fun! He's showing interest in the potty but I don't think he's quite there, but we will continue to work on it. He still takes a 2 hour nap and sleeps all night. He no longer has a bottle and he'll be moving into a big boy bed within the next month or so, to prepare for the new baby. Emmett is very tender hearted and doesn't like to be in trouble. Time out usually doesn't last very long and he's ready for a hug and says, "hold you" when he wants us to hold him. He randomly comes up to give me a kiss and sometimes softly holds my cheeks in his hands when he's talking to me. I think he holds my cheeks to make sure I'm looking right at him and giving him my full attention. We just love Emmett and he's the center of our world!!!

Birthday Girls

Emily and I had our 27th and 29th Birthday last month. Her's is on the 11th and mine the 13th which means we ALWAYS have a joined party and we love it. Jill said she loves birthdays, especially her own and offered to make our cake and have a little party at her house.

The cake was delicious. We all thought Bret was the one who made it because he seems to know his way around the kitchen, but come to find out she has greatly improved on her cooking skills. On a side note Bret has the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever had. The bad news is they only taste good when he makes them, which isn't often enough.

I've been really spoiled lately. The girls gave me a big mirror for my living room. It's beautiful!! I just need Bret to hang it for me. My mom got me a gift certificate to the Corn Wagon Quilt Co. and Nana gave me a scarf & hat. Bret had to work that night but I took the day off of work and we went shopping together and out to eat. I ended up buying a few wants/needs and had a great time with him. Here are a few more pictures from our party:

Jan 2010

I just love this face. I can't get enough of him!!

Emmett is really good at puzzles (takes after his mom). He sometimes mixes up the animal pieces on purpose and then thinks he's funny and says, " i fix it" as he puts the pieces in the right spot.
P.S. Also the other night Emily and I went to a digitial scrapbooking class/event and my mom watched both of our boys. They were both sick so we felt kind of guilty leaving them but Jude managed. We had the best time together and I'm working on Emmett's baby book. It's turning out really cute. We are using Heritage Makers, and we both love it. I just love getting together with Emily. We were so giggly, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. I only laugh that hard once every few months. (Makes me miss Joey, I used that laugh that hard almost daily with him.) We got home and my mom had quite the night. Emmett slept on and off and cried a few times. I asked him if he had fun with grandma and he said, "i cry". I asked him why and he said, "Emmett cried". My mom also said she went in to change his diaper and he grabbed her arm and said, "thanks mom". He's so cute lately and says so many things.

24 Weeks

I am 24 weeks/6 months. This pregnancy is going by faster then the first one and I'm getting more excited and nervous. For the first time I was a little frustrated that I don't know the gender of the baby, and that's because we've been talking about baby names. I have a bunch of girl names I like but no boy names, which makes me want a girl.

Belly Shots:

I've been using my new sewing machine like mad lately. I'm trying to finish up some projects that I started but never finished. Here is an oven mit that I made. Very cute but kind of odd shaped. The thumb hole isn't as deep as I would want it, but I followed the pattern. It also has a little hanging tab but I sewed it wrong and its on the inside of the mit...I"m too lazy to fix it. Who really hangs up their oven mit anyways.

Christmas & New years Eve 2010

We went to Minersville for Christmas this year. Bret got off work early at 11:00pm on Christmas Eve, so we packed up the car and drove to Minersville that night. The fog was really thick so we had to drive slower then usual ,but we made it and by the time we unpacked the car and set up Christmas it was 4:00am. Bret is used to staying up that late but it took a toll on me. Emmett understood the concept of opening a present but didn't get the magic of Christmas. He loved his toys and also fought with his cousins over the toys. One point during this weekend, Grandpa Calvin was watching the kids and said, " I've never done so much refereeing in my life." (hard to believe). Emmett got a tricycle, doodle board, Ice Age movie, a few farm animals, clothes, etc... He loves those hard plastic animals from IFA or CalRanch. They're expensive suckers but they'll never break. Max and Maverick both got these big stuffed horses to ride and Emmett wouldn't get off of them. This was the number 1 toy they all fought over. At one point I thought Emmett was going to fall asleep on it.

Ireceived a new camera from Santa ;) I got a Nikon D3000. I have no idea how to use it but I'm learning. I know nothing about photography but I wanted a camera that will take a pic fast enough to catch the moment or have a picture with Emmett's eyes open.(the flash on my old camera bothered him so he always closed his eyes)

We went sledding down by Milford on Monday. The kids loved it and it was fun watching them.
We also did some horse carriage rides. These horses are huge, the picture doesn't do them justice.

New years Eve was fun, we went to Emily's house and Shayne made Stromboli. I wasn't feeling that great that night so didn't eat as much as I originally planned. I love that dish. I stayed at Emily's house until about 9pm because Emmett was tired and asked me if we could go home. How cute!!! Bret had to work but surprised me again when he got off early and made it home at 12:02am. Isn't Max the cutest baby? I think he looks like Emily more and more everyday. I just love his brown eyes, which you can't see in this picture due to the tears. I'll find another picture of him to post soon.

Grandma Jude with the Emmett, Carly, and Max
I was working on the puzzle and Emmett yells at me from downstairs, "mom...hold you". Meaning he wanted me to hold him. I walked to the stairs expecting to carry him up and found him laying on the stairs. I walked down to get him and he said, "night night" and then kept saying "home". I guess walking up 13 stairs is too much when you've been partying that much.
Later that night Carly kept telling Emily, "Emmett made me nervous." Emily asked her why and she said,"he wanted to go night night on the stairs."
Incase you're wondering...yes we do workout!!!!

Best Christmas Present

Tonight I opened a special gift from my sisters and mom. It was completely unexpected and I cried. I'm so happy and excited for my gift. After I opened it my brother-in-law(Bret) said, " Now, that is the type of gift you want to give." I love that he said GIVE rather then Get. I got a new Bernina sewing machine. I've been borrowing my mom's machine for the last 6 years and I really wanted/needed one of my own. I'm not somebody who occassionally uses a sewing machine, I use it often and I love to make things! Shayne even got teary eyed watching me open my gift and he said, " look how happy she is". I think it was the highlight of everybody's night, but especially mine! Thank you girls!

19 Weeks

I'm 19 weeks today. This pregnancy is flying by. I'm offically free from nausea and much happier. I feel like a new woman. I've gained 10 lbs...seems like more then last time but what do you do. I still run 3-4 times a week but no more then 3 miles. I've been running on the treadmill and most days its torture to get to 3 miles. The days I run outside are much more fulfilling and I feel like I can get myself to run further. I'm having lots of cravings and I really love food. Salt and Vingar chips and oranges have been a top choice. My ultrasound is scheduled for a week from Thursday but we decided we don't want to know the gender of our baby. We think a surprise on delivery day will be extra exciting and special this time! People seem to be very opinionated about this, either people love the idea or they seem to be upset I'm not finding out. I'm not finding out for myself and my intentions are not to torture you!! (Except for Jamie...You're cute about it and I am trying to torture you).I feel the baby move all the time now. I'll post a pregnancy picture next monday on my 20 week mark.
